SideWRK for HVAC

SideWRK is a cheap invoicing app for HVAC techs who work on the side.

It puts the customer, the property and the invoice together, then shows what you kept on the call after parts and time.

What an HVAC job looks like in SideWRK.

The HVAC job as the app lays it out — your own cost sitting on it, and the estimate your customer approves from their phone.

Built for hvac side work — in one app

HVAC

The work this app was built around.

Estimate. Invoice. Get paid.

SideWRK runs the business side from your phone, on the job.

It puts the customer, the property and the invoice together, then shows what you kept after parts and time.

From first call to "paid" in three steps

1

Write it up

Add the customer and the unit, then the work — the diagnostic, the part, a photo of the problem. Send the branded estimate from the roof if that's where you are.

2

Send it

They see the photos and the price and tap Approve from their phone. The yes is logged with the time and the amount.

3

Get paid

It becomes a numbered invoice with your license number printed on it. Record payment and the real profit on the call lands in Money.

What should an HVAC tech charge?

HVAC starts with a service-call or diagnostic fee, then flat-rate repairs, with installs priced by the unit. Here's how it's priced, plus free calculators to find your number.

Weekend changeouts pay — if your rate covers the gauges, the refrigerant, and the drive.

The hvac rate behind SideWRK's estimating defaults is $110/hr, with 55% of a typical ticket paying for time rather than materials. Both numbers come from our 2026 Side-Work Rate Report, which publishes the same figures for all 42 trades.

HVAC FAQ

Does it track HVAC permits and inspections?

Yes. Each job has a permit panel — number, authority, status, and rough-in/final inspections with dates — and the permit number prints on the estimate and invoice.

Do I need to install anything?

No — SideWRK runs in any phone browser, nothing to download. Everything syncs to the cloud, so your phone on the job and your laptop at night see the same data.

Can I run more than one trade?

Yes — every trade is unlocked and you switch between them in a tap, sharing one customer list.

What should an HVAC tech charge?

Most HVAC techs charge a diagnostic fee of about $80 to $150, then flat-rate repairs off a menu, with installs priced by tonnage and unit plus permits. Peak-season demand and access raise the number. Use the free hourly rate calculator to find your number.

How much does it cost?

SideWRK is $19/month — every trade, everything included. You start on the free plan: five jobs a rolling year, no card, and no expiry. Paying lifts every limit — $19 a month, or $190 a year.
